Playin in the Park

Well it's been a pretty tame summer, but fun none the less. Here is a little montage of us playing in the park. Because it is so close to the house and it has a ball diamond, the kids really enjoy going there. You will have to enjoy these for now as my camera is in Missouri and I'm not quite sure when it will return. Enjoy!

The 4th of July Mercer Weekend!

Below is a little montage of the Mercer Family 4th of July. We went down to great friends of ours, the Fuller's, (more like family) and swam, ate, ate some more..... We camped the night of the 4th and then off to another big picnic on the 5th. After more food (ugg!) and a small water fight incident, we were off to watch some fireworks. I never did get any good shots of those so they didn't make the montage. On the 6th we had a family reunion and of course more food. But it was great to see all the fam. You will see towards the end of the clip, Mikey was wired from the weekend, but Matty had had enough! Enjoy!

Where did the Summer Go??

Sorry it has been so long since I have updated, I tend to procrastinate just a bit. But wow, where did the summer go? Looking back at some of my pictures, it doesn't seem that long ago that Allie was in her recital and that was back in May?!! So here is a little bit of what we did towards the end of the school year '08 including Allie's recital and the beginning of Summer.

Allie and her friend Haley at their dance recital in May. The make-up looked fantastic with her dance outfit this year. Her ballet teacher is soo creative. This year her song was a beautiful instrumental and the girls were 'dying swans'. I guess you had to be there! :)

Mikey graduates from Pre-school

My son Michael graduated from his preschool class consisting of 3! Ha! His daycare provider Nicole Willson was such a blessing to our family by providing Michael quality preschool with the comfort of home. Nicole has been our in home daycare provider since Mikey was 8 weeks old. Because of all her many skills and knowledge, she taught preschool out of her home this year. It was awesome! Thank you Cole!

Ashlyn, Mikey, and Kaylyn at graduation. Mike, Mikey and I with the proud diploma!

Mikey and his Preschool teacher, daycare provider, second mom, friend.............. we could go on.

Mikey started T-Ball!!

Mike and I knew we had to get Mikey involved in something, we just didn't know what would fit his personality. When we remembered that he was able to hit a tiny rock with a bat through a glass window at the age of 2, what else but T-Ball would do?! I was prepared for Mikey to hit off of an actual tee, but in this league the coaches actually pitch the ball to the player a few times. To my surprise, Mikey caught on very well with not a lot of coaching. It was very laid back and the coaches were wonderful. I can't wait until next year!

Even though Mikey is all boy, he loves to pose for the camera. This shot was completely his idea. What a handsome devil!

Here he is posing with his cool bat. The little man could hit!

And yet another pose that Mikey came up with. He must get his good looks from his Dad!

My Honey and Me

My Superman

So how it all got started.... well that is too long of a story, but look at him... his smile says it all. I couldn't sing enough praises about my husband. He is my superman and the best daddy my kids could have ever asked for. He is the hardest worker I know (besides my own daddy) and he still makes time when he comes home to make our family feel like top priority. Sometimes I like to brag and say "Man, I have good taste" , but I know God must have hand-picked him for me because I am not that good.

"US"
This is an early 'Us'. I think right before we got engaged. We were down in the Ozarks enjoying what would be one of the last times we went on vacation 'just the two of us'. We still get our time away because we both have amazing parents, but this was at least a week long trip and that just doesn't happen anymore without little ones. To be quite honest, I don't know if we would even be able to handle a week without kids. You just get use to having them around! :)

Here is another 'early us'. I just can't get over his smile! That could make anyones day! We were out with our friends that night enjoying the company. I am a pretty lucky gal.

The Kids

This is my Matthew. The newest addition to the Mercer crew. He is 18 months now and the strongest reminder that our family really wasn't complete without him. In this picture he was only 7 months old or so, but I couldn't resist showing off the hat. He won't keep it on for a second now a days!

Mikey boy! My middle child. What a boy! Don't let the innocent look fool you! He is the one that keeps me on my toes. He is 5 and will be starting Kindergarten this August. Anything involving running, punching, or cool sound effects is right up his alley. Lately, the computer has really caught his attention and the cartoon 'Ben 10'. He is now convinced that he can be an alien fighting super-hero when he grows up. Who am I to contend that???

My precious girl, Allie. She is truly my dancing queen (note the dance clothes). She will be turning '13' this year! OMG! You might be thinking... 'wow, good luck with that' but she is such an angel. Not that there isn't a bit of attitude that goes on, but for the most part, I couldn't be more proud. Straight A's, nice friends, good attitude, and most importantly she still thinks I'm cool!
